Description
LabSen 855 pH/Temp. electrode is a combined glass pH and temperature sensor engineered for high-precision pH measurement of viscous liquids such as cosmetics, skin-care products, paints, coatings, adhesives, slurries, honey and liquid resins. A pre-pressurised, long-life gel KCl electrolyte counters the common problem of clogged junctions in viscous samples, ensuring smooth electrolyte outflow, fast response and extended electrode life. The HA membrane minimises alkaline error and withstands elevated temperatures, while the robust lead-free glass membrane is approximately ten times stronger than conventional designs. Shaft dimensions are Ø12 × 120 mm. An integrated 30 kΩ NTC temperature sensor provides automatic temperature compensation over the recommended range of 0 – 130 °C. Measuring range covers 0 – 14 pH; the junction is ceramic and the reference system uses a silver-ion barrier. Manufactured with proprietary Swiss sensor technology and materials by APERA Instruments, the electrode features an 8-pin connector and a Ø5 mm × 1 m cable. It works with Apera meters that use the 8-pin interface, including PH60, PH60-Z, PH400, PC400, PH400S, PC400S, SX751 and SX736. Pack size is one piece for demanding viscous-sample applications.

Questions about LabSen 853-S pH/Temp. Electrode, pre-pressurized, for highly viscous solutions
What is this article?
LabSen 853-S pH/Temp. Electrode, pre-pressurized, for highly viscous solutions is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
