Description

LabSen 865 pH/Temp. electrode is a combined glass pH and temperature sensor designed for high-precision measurement of high-temperature aqueous solutions and alkaline or corrosive liquids such as electroplating baths. Its specialised PHY membrane and clog-free PTFE junction support consistent, accurate readings in complex and aggressive media. The robust lead-free glass membrane is approximately ten times stronger than conventional glass membranes, while the silver-ion reference system provides a stable reference potential and long service life. Shaft dimensions are Ø12 × 120 mm. An integrated 30 kΩ NTC temperature sensor enables automatic temperature compensation across the recommended operating range of 0 – 130 °C. The measuring range is 1 – 13 pH with gel KCl electrolyte. Built with proprietary Swiss sensor technology and high-quality materials from manufacturer APERA Instruments, the electrode uses an 8-pin connector and a Ø5 mm × 1 m cable. It is compatible with Apera pocket and benchtop meters that accept the 8-pin interface, including PH60, PH60-Z, PH400, PC400, PH400S, PC400S, SX751 and SX736. Supplied as one piece for laboratory and process applications requiring durable performance in high-temperature and alkaline environments.

What is this article?

LabSen 863 pH/Temp. Electrode for High-Temp./Caustic Solut., e.g. Electroplating is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
