Description
LabSen 753 stainless steel spear pH electrode is an insertion pH electrode with integrated temperature sensor for direct measurement in solid and semi-solid samples. Built with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from manufacturer APERA Instruments, it uses a LabSen S-type pointed low-impedance glass membrane that delivers fully stabilised readings in 15 to 30 seconds and is up to 10 times more robust than conventional electrodes, markedly lowering breakage risk on impact or penetration. Polymer electrolyte with open-pore diaphragm structure allows direct sample contact without clogging and requires no refilling. The long-life reference system (glass tube, AgCl and reference silver wire, cotton-filled) improves reference stability and extends electrode life. A food-grade titanium alloy housing protects the sensor and is easy to clean, making the electrode especially suitable for cheese, flour products, meat, fruit and similar foods. Measuring range is 0 to 14 pH; recommended operating temperature is 0 to 80 °C. Electrode dimensions are Ø12×115 mm with measuring tip Ø6×50 mm; diaphragm is ceramic plus single pore. Connection is BNC/RCA via Ø5 mm × 1 m cable. It serves as replacement electrode for SX811-SS, PH850-SS and PH8500-SS and is BNC-compatible with corresponding meters. Pack size is 1 piece.

Questions about LabSen®753 Stainless Steel Spear pH Electrode
What is this article?
LabSen®753 Stainless Steel Spear pH Electrode is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
