Description

DURAN® measuring cylinder, low form, class B, 50 ml, brown graduated is a volumetric glassware item made from borosilicate glass 3.3 for general laboratory volume measurement. The cylinder follows the low-form (short) design, carries class B accuracy and is graduated with a brown line scale at 2 ml intervals according to DIN EN ISO 4788 (50:2 ml). Clear brown markings remain legible against a wide range of liquids and support straightforward meniscus reading. Supplied in packs of 2 pieces from manufacturer Hirschmann, the cylinders are intended for routine preparation, dilution and transfer tasks in analytical and educational laboratories. The robust borosilicate glass 3.3 construction provides good thermal and chemical resistance under normal laboratory conditions. Nominal volume is 50 ml (0,05 l) with a net weight of 0,155 kg per unit. Low-form geometry offers improved stability on the bench compared with tall cylinders while still delivering the precision required for class B work. These measuring cylinders are suitable for aqueous and many organic solutions where standardised volumetric glassware is specified.

This article is part of Measuring cylinders, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about MEASURING CYLINDERS B 50 ML, LOW FORM, SHORT LINE,AMB. GRAD

What is this article?

MEASURING CYLINDERS B 50 ML, LOW FORM, SHORT LINE,AMB. GRAD is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hirschmann for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.

A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.

Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
