Description

Portable pH/°C meter for milk is a waterproof, HACCP-compliant handheld instrument for simultaneous pH and temperature measurement in dairy samples. It is supplied with the FC1013 electrode, which has a robust food-grade PVDF body that is easy to clean, an internal temperature sensor, Quick DIN connector and 1 m cable. pH readings help identify contamination, spoilage and signs of mastitis infection during production control. Automatic one- or two-point calibration, automatic temperature compensation and selectable resolution of 0,1 or 0,01 cover the range from pH −2,00 to 16,00 with accuracy down to ±0,02 pH; temperature spans −5,0 to 105,0 °C. The IP67 housing, multilevel LCD with electrode-condition indicator and simple two-button operation suit demanding plant environments. From manufacturer Hanna Instruments, the kit includes starter calibration solutions, cleaning solution, three 1,5 V AAA batteries, manual and quality certificate in a sturdy carrying case. Meter size is 154 mm × 63 mm × 30 mm at about 196 g, with roughly 1400 hours continuous battery life.

Questions about Milk pH Portable Meter (HACCP)

What is this article?

Milk pH Portable Meter (HACCP) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
