Description

Multiparameter probe HI7698196 is a durable sensor housing for the HI98196 multiparameter meter, designed to accept sensors for pH, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), dissolved oxygen and temperature. Delivered without sensors and protective cap, the probe features a Quick Connect DIN connector that links quickly, securely and watertight to the handheld instrument. Sensors are recognised automatically when attached; unused ports deactivate or omit the corresponding parameters on the meter display. Screw-type sensor connections and colour-coded ports minimise errors and support simple on-site replacement. A multi-core shielded and reinforced 4 m cable provides a tensile load rating of 68 kg for non-continuous use. With IP68 protection, the probe is suited to freshwater, brackish water or seawater and a maximum immersion depth of 20 m. Dimensions without cable are 342 mm length by 46 mm diameter; weight is 570 g. Wetted materials include ABS body, nylon threads, ABS/AISI 316 stainless-steel guard, AISI 316 temperature sensor and EPDM O-rings. This multiparameter probe from manufacturer Hanna Instruments supports versatile dissolved-oxygen and electrochemical measurements in field and laboratory water analysis.

Questions about Multiparameter probe for HI98195, no sensors, 4 m cable

What is this article?

Multiparameter probe for HI98195, no sensors, 4 m cable is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
