Description

Autoclavable Nalgene™ septum closure, size 38–430, enables aseptic injection of reagents or sample withdrawal without compromising the sterility or integrity of bottle contents. Manufactured from polypropylene with a screw-thread opening, these septum closures fit Nalgene bottles that use 38–430 mm thread sizes. Autoclavability supports repeated sterilisation cycles in microbiology, cell culture and other aseptic workflows where container access must remain controlled. Each unit is supplied ready for use as a dedicated septum closure, and the pack contains 12 pieces for multi-bottle setups or stock replenishment. The design allows needle penetration through the septum while the polypropylene body maintains a secure seal on the bottle neck after autoclaving. From manufacturer Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics, this closure is intended for laboratories that require reliable, reusable access ports on threaded Nalgene bottles. Suitable for reagent addition, sterile sampling and process monitoring where opening the full cap would risk contamination.

Questions about Nalgene™ Autoclavable Septum Closure, Autoclavable, 38-430 size

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Autoclavable Septum Closure, Autoclavable, 38-430 size is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
