Description

Fluorinated Nalgene™ HDPE wash bottle for solvents is a laboratory wash bottle engineered for reliable dispensing of solutions that demand strong chemical resistance and low permeability. Its fluorinated high-density polyethylene body offers an economical alternative to fluoropolymer containers while maintaining excellent compatibility with a wide range of solvents. The nominal capacity is 500 ml (16 oz.), presented in a clear transparent cylindrical body fitted with a red polypropylene closure of 53 mm that is supplied with the bottle and permits dispensing directly through the closure. A wide mouth simplifies filling and cleaning between uses. The bottle is not graduated. Packaged as a case of 24 pieces (2 per pack) from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, this wash bottle supports everyday solvent handling, rinsing and reagent transfer tasks in research, analytical and quality-control laboratories. The robust cylindrical form provides stable bench placement, and the included closure ensures the unit is ready for immediate laboratory use with solvent-based workflows.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Fluorinated HDPE Solvent Wash Bottle is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Wash bottles, inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A wash bottle is a squeeze bottle with a bent delivery tube, used to rinse a precipitate or a electrode with a small directed stream. The liquid inside is usually water or a solvent, and the bottle has to tolerate that liquid.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
