The square profile and moulded handles improve grip and pouring safety when handling larger liquid volumes. A wide neck with 89 mm internal diameter accepts a white polypropylene screw closure of 100 mm size. Overall height is 279 mm. The bottle is intended for storage, transport and dispensing of laboratory reagents and solutions where chemical resistance of HDPE and convenient wide-mouth access are required. Closure is included. This laboratory plastic bottle from manufacturer Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics meets USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR requirements as stated by the producer. What is this article?

Nalgene™ Large Square Wide-Mouth HDPE Bottle with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
