Description

Nalgene™ polycarbonate narrow-mouth bottles with closure are impact-resistant laboratory containers intended for effective freezing and handling of samples. Moulded from clear polycarbonate (PC), each bottle provides a generous nominal volume of 8 l (2 gal) with a narrow-mouth opening for controlled pouring and reduced spillage risk. The inner neck diameter is 37 mm; a natural polypropylene screw closure, size 53B, with TPE gasket is included and supplied without a separate liner. Round bottle dimensions are 193 mm diameter and 409 mm height. These bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics are autoclavable and manufactured to ISO 13485:2016 quality requirements; bottles and closures meet US 21 CFR 177.1580 for food and beverage contact and USP Class VI criteria. Suitable for cold storage, sample freezing, and general laboratory liquid handling where optical clarity and toughness are required, they are supplied as a single unit for dedicated large-volume applications.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth Polycarbonate Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
