Description
Nalgene™ PPCO narrow-mouth bottles with closure are autoclavable laboratory bottles for workflows that need strong chemical resistance together with sterilisation by autoclaving, with or without contents. They are moulded from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) in a natural translucent finish, combining chemical durability with easy visual checks of the contents. Nominal capacity is 125 ml (4 oz). The narrow-mouth configuration provides an 18 mm inner neck diameter and includes a 24 mm natural polypropylene screw closure without liner; dispensing through the closure is not intended. Form is Boston round, with a height of 3,97 in and a width of 1,98 in, supporting stable bench use and orderly storage. Graduations are not provided. Manufacturing follows ISO 13485:2016 quality requirements; bottles and closures meet 21CFR177.1520 for food and beverage contact use and USP Class VI criteria. Offered in the Nalgene™ laboratory plastics line from Thermo Scientific, these containers suit sample storage, reagent handling and process steps where PPCO and autoclaving are specified. Packaging is 12 pieces per pack and 72 pieces per case for efficient laboratory replenishment.

Questions about Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth PPCO Bottles with Closure: Autoclavable
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth PPCO Bottles with Closure: Autoclavable is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.
A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.
A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
