Description

Nalgene™ phthalate-free PVC tubing is transparent laboratory-grade flexible tubing made from high-quality resins and orthophthalate-free plasticisers. It sets a clear standard for purity-focused fluid handling in analytical and process settings. Metric dimensions are an inner diameter of 3,2 mm, an outer diameter of 6,4 mm and a wall thickness of 1,6 mm, supplied as a continuous 15000 mm length on one roll. Hardness is Durometer 60 (A), with a bend radius of four times the outer diameter for flexible routing. Maximum working pressure is 50 psig at 23 °C and 25 psig at 51 °C; maximum operating temperature is 71 °C. Vacuum capability is very low. The tubing is autoclavable and may also be sterilised by gas or chemical methods. It meets FDA CFR21 food-contact requirements, USP VI and cytotoxicity expectations, and is latex-free. This Nalgene™ line from manufacturer Thermo Scientific supports general laboratory transfer, instrument connections and installations where phthalate-free PVC construction is specified.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Non-Phthalate PVC Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
