Description

Nalgene™ Pharma-Grade Platinum-Cured Silicone Tubing for Peristaltic Pumps provides durable, high-purity flexible lines for consistently reliable and accurate fluid transfer. It is suited to pharmaceutical, laboratory and biotechnology work, including peristaltic pump applications that need clean, flexible silicone. This translucent size No. 17 tubing features a 1/4 in. inner diameter and a total length of 25 ft. Mechanical characteristics include Durometer 50 (A) hardness and a bend radius of 4× the outer diameter, supporting controlled routing in pump heads and transfer assemblies. The tubing is autoclavable for routine thermal processing of fluid paths. Relevant conformity statements cover USP <87> cytotoxicity (agar diffusion and MEM elution), USP <88> Class VI, USP <661> physicochemical tests, ISO 10993-3 bacterial mutagenicity (Ames assay), ISO 10993-4 hemolysis (direct contact) and EP 3.1.9 for silicone elastomer. Supplied as a case of 25 from manufacturer Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics, this Nalgene platinum-cured silicone tubing supports accurate liquid handling where pharma-grade flexible tubing is specified.

Questions about Nalgene™ Pharma-Grade Platinum-Cured Silicone Tubing for Peristaltic

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Pharma-Grade Platinum-Cured Silicone Tubing for Peristaltic is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Silicone tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

Silicone tubing stays flexible across a wide temperature range and survives repeated autoclaving, which is why peristaltic pumps and media lines use it. It is not the choice for strong solvents, which migrate into the wall.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
