Description

Nalgene™ Rapid-Flow™ sterile receiver bottles are gamma-sterilized filtrate bottles designed to save handling time and help minimise contamination risk in the laboratory. With a nominal volume of 1 l, each clear polystyrene (PS) bottle is fitted with a white pigmented closure made from pure HDPE and features a wide opening for convenient filling and transfer. They are well suited as storage vessels for filtered media, buffers and other aqueous solutions after vacuum or pressure filtration workflows. Supplied as a case of 12 from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, the bottles support efficient stock management in cell culture, microbiology and general life-science laboratories. The robust polystyrene construction offers good clarity for visual inspection of contents, while the sterile supply format reduces preparation steps before use. Gross weight of the case is 2,780 kg. These receiver bottles integrate readily into filtration setups where a sterile, wide-mouth collection and storage container is required.

Questions about Nalgene™ Rapid-Flow™ Sterile Filter Storage

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Rapid-Flow™ Sterile Filter Storage is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
