Description

Nalgene™ square bottles (PP) are narrow-mouth laboratory containers produced from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) with a nominal volume of 500 ml (16 oz). Their square geometry saves storage space relative to round bottles, while the natural translucent walls keep contents and fill level visible. Each unit includes a leakproof polypropylene screw closure (size 38–430) and permanent graduations for straightforward volume assessment. The neck inner diameter is 28 mm. Bottles can be autoclaved repeatedly and are described as meeting USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR criteria. Thermo Scientific Nalgene square bottles are well suited to bulk reagent storage, buffer preparation and general liquid handling where chemical resistance and multi-cycle autoclaving matter. Typical supply is 12 pieces per pack and 48 pieces per case. The combination of PPCO durability, narrow-mouth opening, graduated body and compact square form makes these bottles a reliable option for routine laboratory organisation and sample or chemical storage.

Nalgene™ Square Narrow-Mouth PPCO Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
