Description

Nalgene™ square polycarbonate bottles with closure are durable, narrow-mouth laboratory bottles designed for storing aqueous solutions and for short-term media holding. Each bottle offers a nominal capacity of 1 l (1000 ml / 32 oz) in a space-efficient square profile made from polycarbonate (PC), with a natural translucent appearance that supports visual content checks. Graduations aid volume estimation, while the narrow neck provides an internal diameter of 28 mm. Leakproof polypropylene (PP) screw closures in a natural translucent finish are included; closure size is 38–430. Overall dimensions are approximately 92 mm diameter and 218 mm height, with a width of about 3,65 in and height of 8,63 in. The bottles are autoclavable and meet USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR requirements as stated by the manufacturer. Supplied from Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, they ship as a case of 24 (4 per pack), making them practical for routine lab storage, media handling, and organised bench or cold-room use where square footprint and chemical durability matter.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Square Polycarbonate Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
