Description

Nalgene™ square HDPE wide-mouth bottles with closure are translucent natural-coloured containers designed for straightforward filling and secure storage of laboratory liquids and solids. Each bottle holds a nominal volume of 60 ml (2 oz) and features a wide mouth with 21 mm internal neck diameter, facilitating easy pouring, scooping and cleaning. The square profile measures approximately 1,41 in width and 83 mm height, maximising shelf density while remaining stable. Bottles are moulded from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) that provides excellent chemical resistance across a broad range of reagents. A 28 mm polypropylene screw closure without liner is included, ensuring leak-resistant sealing. Supplied by manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, these USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR compliant bottles suit sample collection, buffer storage, media aliquoting and general chemical handling where space-efficient square geometry and wide-mouth access are advantageous.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Square Wide-Mouth HDPE Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
