Description
Nalgene™ square HDPE wide-mouth bottles with closure are high-density polyethylene laboratory bottles offering a nominal capacity of 0,25 l (8 oz). Their wide-mouth design allows simple filling and access, while the HDPE construction provides strong chemical resistance for a wide variety of laboratory media and reagents. The square profile improves bench stability and packing density compared with round bottles of similar volume. Height is 116 mm according to the metric specification, with a neck inner diameter of 33 mm; imperial figures list a diameter of 2,4 in, a width of 2,4 in and a height of 4,5 in. Each unit includes a natural translucent polypropylene screw closure sized 43 mm and supplied without a liner. Both bottle and closure appear in a natural translucent colour that permits visual assessment of fill level and contents. Materials comply with USP Class VI and FDA – 21 CFR requirements. These square wide-mouth bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics support sample storage, reagent handling and general chemical containment in research and quality-control environments. They are not graduated and do not allow dispensing through the closure. The product carries an ACT label. Packaging comprises twelve bottles per pack and seventy-two bottles per carton.

Questions about Nalgene™ Square Wide-Mouth HDPE Bottles with Closure
What is this article?
Nalgene™ Square Wide-Mouth HDPE Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.
A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.
A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
