Description

Nalgene™ Wide-Mouth Bottles Made of Teflon™ FEP with Closure are temperature- and chemical-resistant laboratory bottles for trace metal analysis and applications with organic solvents. Each round wide-mouth bottle offers a nominal capacity of 1 l (32 oz) in a natural translucent FEP body that supports visual assessment of contents. The included screw closure is made of Tefzel ETFE with a 53 mm closure size; the inner neck diameter is 43 mm, the bottle diameter is 91 mm and the height is 209 mm. Manufactured from polyfluoroethylenepropylene (FEP), the bottles are autoclavable and supplied complete with closure. Graduations are not provided, leaving a clear wall for labelling or inspection. These bottles from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics arrive ready for laboratory use and are packed as a case of 4 pieces. The wide opening eases filling, pouring and cleaning during sample preparation, solvent handling and analytical workflows where chemical resistance and material purity are important. Robust FEP construction combined with an ETFE screw closure provides a practical container for demanding chemical environments in research and routine laboratory practice.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Wide-Mouth Bottles Made of Teflon™ FEP with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
