Description

Nalgene™ lab-quality HDPE wide-mouth bottles are versatile round containers intended for countless field applications as well as laboratory storage and shipping tasks. Each bottle offers a nominal capacity of 30 ml with a wide-mouth opening, an inner neck diameter of 21 mm and a matching 28 mm natural-coloured polypropylene screw closure supplied without liner. Manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the bottles appear natural and translucent, making them well suited to handling light-sensitive or valuable reagents in small quantities. Produced according to the quality requirements of ISO 13485:2016, both the bottles and their closures meet US 21CFR177.1520 criteria for food and beverage contact together with USP Class VI standards. These reusable bottles, available from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, carry the ACT Label and are neither single-use nor fitted for dispensing through the closure. Organised as packs of 12 within cartons of 72, they support efficient logistics while the robust HDPE construction and wide-mouth format ensure convenient filling, secure closure and reliable performance across diverse laboratory and field environments.

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Wide-Mouth Lab Quality HDPE Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
