Description

Short thread cap ND9 PP, black, with a 1,0 mm natural rubber red-orange/TEF transparent septum is a vial closure for ND9 short-thread chromatography vials. The black polypropylene screw cap is designed in the manner of a crimp cap, which supports use with robotic gripper arms on automated sample handlers and autosamplers. The natural rubber carrier is comparatively soft for secure needle penetration and, unlike synthetic RedRubber-type laminates described for related products, is the elastomer type associated with multiple-injection use; the transparent TEF face forms the sample-side barrier. Short-thread closures in this line are also available as closed (solid) caps and as pre-assembled units with slit septa to reduce vacuum formation during repeated injections, while Y-cut (pre-cut) designs that open only the elastomer and leave the fluoropolymer layer intact help avoid the concentration fluctuations seen with fully slit septa. This black ND9 short-thread cap from manufacturer Altmann Analytik is offered as an alternative to matching articles from Agilent, Chromacol, National Scientific, Wheaton, Finneran and SUN/SRI International. Pack size is 1000 pc(s) for routine laboratory replenishment.

This article is part of Vial caps & septa, in Vials, caps & septa.

Questions about ND9 PP Short Thread Cap, black, 1,0 mm, Natural Rubber red-orange/TEF transp.

What is this article?

ND9 PP Short Thread Cap, black, 1,0 mm, Natural Rubber red-orange/TEF transp. is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Altmann Analytik for laboratory use. It sits in Vial caps & septa, inside Vials, caps & septa, in Chromatography equipment.

A vial cap and a septum have to match the vial neck: crimp, screw or snap, and the diameter. The septum material, PTFE/silicone or rubber, decides chemical resistance and how many times a needle can pierce it. A septum that sheds into the solvent becomes ghost peaks.

An autosampler vial is the small closed bottle a chromatograph picks up. The neck is crimp, screw or snap, and the cap and the septum have to be that neck. The septum is the part the needle pierces. A soft septum reseals. A septum that is wrong for the solvent swells or sheds particles into the sample. Inserts reduce the volume when the sample is scarce. The separation they feed is described with IUPAC names and PubChem data.
