The colourless-lacquered aluminium shells feature a 5,5 mm centre opening for needle penetration and are fitted with a 1,0 mm red rubber/PTFE laminated septum. This septum combination is temperature-resistant from −40 °C to +110 °C and is well suited to multiple injections thanks to favourable resealing behaviour and lower fragmentation compared with natural rubber/TEF constructions. As a standard closure type for gas and liquid chromatography, it supports routine multi-injection sequences while helping to limit septum debris.
