Owl™ complete system for vertical dual-gel electrophoresis with caster is a two-gel vertical electrophoresis unit designed to cast, load and run one or two gels in the same instrument. The P10DS complete system accommodates 20 × 20 cm gels and provides a buffer volume of 1250 ml, supporting SDS-PAGE, the second dimension of 2-D electrophoresis, agarose work and native electrophoresis. A central cooling core delivers uniform temperature across the gel surface for clear band resolution; cooling is achieved by circulating liquid through the core with an external circulator or cold tap water. Proven acrylic fabrication yields a durable, chemically resistant chamber, while a simple clamp mechanism speeds insertion of glass cassettes and most manufacturers’ precast gels. Operation follows six straightforward steps: secure cassettes, introduce agarose where required, seat the specialised insert, pour polyacrylamide, load samples and run. This complete system with caster from Thermo Scientific is intended for laboratories that need flexible dual-gel capacity, even cooling and straightforward handling in a single vertical platform.
