Description

PH700-WW benchtop pH meter is a laboratory instrument for fast, reliable pH determination in dirty liquid samples such as wastewater, suspensions, emulsions and sludges as well as general aqueous solutions. It is supplied with the Swiss LabSen 333 pH/temperature electrode, which features an open diaphragm and a long-life reference system specifically engineered for contaminated fluids. Automatic 1- to 3-point calibration with self-diagnosis and electrode-condition display ensures straightforward operation, while the Max/Min reading mode allows rapid evaluation of measurement series. Up to 50 data sets can be stored. The IP54-rated housing provides splash-water and dust protection. pH range covers 0,00 to 14,00 at 0,1/0,01 resolution and ±0,01 ± 1 digit accuracy; mV range is ±1999 mV. Automatic or manual temperature compensation operates from 0 to 100 °C. The complete kit from manufacturer Apera Instruments includes the PH700 meter, LabSen 333 electrode, electrode holder, pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 calibration solutions (50 ml each) and power supply. Meter dimensions are 24 × 23,5 × 10,3 cm; weight is 1 kg (1,8 kg with case). Two-year manufacturer warranty applies to the meter (six months on the electrode).

Questions about PH700 Benchtop pH Meter incl. pH electrode

What is this article?

PH700 Benchtop pH Meter incl. pH electrode is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
