Description
PH850-PW portable pH meter is a compact handheld device for determining pH, ORP (with optional separate electrode) and temperature, developed specifically for fast, simple and accurate pH measurement of low-ionic-strength solutions such as pure, distilled or deionised water. The included LabSen® 803 pH/temperature electrode combines a unique L-type glass membrane with a movable sleeve that allows adjustment of electrolyte outflow rate, plus an integrated sensor for automatic temperature compensation (ATC). Encased in a silicone sleeve and rated IP57 against water and dust, the instrument is ideal for field use even in rough environments and offers a fold-out stand for indoor operation. Rapid 1- to 3-point automatic calibration, a large illuminated LCD presenting measured value and temperature together with calibration details, and self-diagnosis functions support reliable daily work. Specifications cover pH 0,00 to 14,00 (resolution 0,1/0,01, accuracy ±0,01 ±1 digit), mV ±1000 and temperature 0 to 100 °C. Power is supplied by three AA batteries; dimensions are 88×170×33 mm and net weight 0,313 kg (1,3 kg with carrying case). The set comprises the PH850 meter, LabSen® 803 electrode, pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 buffers (50 ml each), screwdriver, operating manual and case from manufacturer APERA Instruments.

Questions about PH850-PW Portable pH Meter for Purified Water (Drinking/RO/Distilled/Deionized)
What is this article?
PH850-PW Portable pH Meter for Purified Water (Drinking/RO/Distilled/Deionized) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
