Description
PH8500-FT portable pH meter is a compact, easy-to-use instrument for determining pH value, ORP (electrode available separately, e.g. 301Pt-C) and temperature, with integrated GLP data management. It comes with the LabSen® 373 pH electrode featuring a flat glass membrane for reliable measurements on smooth surfaces such as skin, paper, leather, fabric and textiles. A polyoxymethylene (POM) sleeve protects the electrode from corrosion and impact, while the integrated temperature sensor enables simultaneous pH and temperature readings with automatic temperature compensation. The meter is shielded by a silicone sleeve and is water- and dustproof to IP57, making it suitable for field work in demanding environments. From manufacturer APERA Instruments, it offers memory for up to 500 data groups with GLP data management, USB connection for PC readout or real-time logging, a fold-out stand, rapid 1- to 3-point automatic calibration, self-diagnosis and a large backlit LCD showing measured value, temperature and calibration information. Technical data cover pH range −2,00 to 16,00 pH (resolution 0,1/0,01; accuracy ±0,01 pH ±1 digit), mV range ±2000 mV, and temperature 0 to 100 °C. Power is via 3 AA batteries or DC 5 V (USB). Dimensions are 88×170×33 mm / 313 g; with case 360×270×76 mm / 1,3 kg. Delivery includes meter, LabSen® 373 electrode, calibration solutions (pH 4,00; 7,00; 10,01) 50 ml each, USB cable, USB stick with PC-Link software, screwdriver, manual and carrying case.

Questions about PH8500-FT Portable pH Meter for Surface Measurements, with GLP Data Management
What is this article?
PH8500-FT Portable pH Meter for Surface Measurements, with GLP Data Management is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
