Description
PH8500-MT is a portable pH meter engineered for rapid, precise and reproducible pH, ORP (separate electrode) and temperature measurements in meat, fish and semi-frozen foods. It is supplied with the LabSen® 763 blade electrode whose food-grade titanium tip pierces tissue without damaging the glass membrane; the solid polymer electrolyte and open-hole diaphragm design resist clogging by food particles. An integrated temperature sensor enables automatic temperature compensation (ATC). The meter from manufacturer APERA Instruments is protected by a silicone sleeve and carries an IP57 rating, making it suitable for harsh field environments while a fold-out stand allows convenient indoor use. Users benefit from quick 1- to 3-point automatic calibration, a large backlit LCD that simultaneously displays reading and temperature plus calibration information, self-diagnosis support, GLP data management for 500 storage groups, and USB output for batch transfer or real-time logging. Technical performance includes a pH range of −2,00 to 16,00 pH (resolution 0,1/0,01, accuracy ±0,01 pH ±1 digit), mV range ±2000 mV and temperature range 0 to 100 °C. The complete set comprises the PH8500 meter, LabSen® 763 electrode, calibration solutions pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 (50 ml each), USB cable, PC-Link software stick, screwdriver, manual and carrying case.

Questions about PH8500-MT Portable pH Meter for meat and fish, with GLP data management
What is this article?
PH8500-MT Portable pH Meter for meat and fish, with GLP data management is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
