Description

PTFE tubing Ø 4×6 mm is a durable polytetrafluoroethylene hose designed for laboratory and industrial fluid handling, delivered as a 5 m coil with a maximum pressure rating of 60 bar. Dimensions are an inner diameter of 4 mm, an outer diameter of 6 mm and a wall thickness of 1 mm, giving a balanced profile for flexible yet pressure-stable connections. PTFE provides exceptional resistance to nearly all chemicals, the lowest friction coefficient among polymers and excellent anti-adhesive properties that facilitate residual emptying. The tubing is odour-free, does not burn or smoke, and is resistant to ageing and UV light, although it is not suitable for fluorine compounds or strong reducing agents. Its good transparency supports clear visual monitoring, and high abrasion resistance contributes to long service life. Manufactured by Bürkle, this taste- and odour-neutral PTFE hose is widely used in general liquid transfer, the chemical industry, laboratories, analytics and water treatment, electrical insulation, cooling and cryogenics, high-pressure transport applications, and food, beverage and nutritional processing.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about PTFE hose, Ø 4x6 mm, pressure max. 60 bar, 5 m

What is this article?

PTFE hose, Ø 4x6 mm, pressure max. 60 bar, 5 m is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
