Description
qpore® Bottle-Top Filter with hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane is a sterile filtration unit for processing larger sample volumes under vacuum directly into a sterile receiving bottle. The 0,45 µm PVDF membrane (Ø 50 mm) provides very fast flow rates for efficient sterile filtration of cell culture media, microbiological media, buffer solutions and other biological liquids. The assembly features a graduated filter upper part, a GL 45 screw closure and a hose connector for rapid attachment of tubing with an internal diameter of 8–12 mm, enabling convenient under-pressure filtration at the bench. Blue colour coding supports quick visual identification among other membrane types. Filters are sterile, pyrogen-free and free from detergents, and are individually sterile-packed as 24 pieces per pack; the outer packaging includes a tear aid so it can be opened without additional tools. Part of the qpore® bottle-top range from manufacturer neolab - Labor, these units use membranes manufactured from high-quality raw materials under high quality standards for laboratory filtration of larger sample quantities.
This article is part of Bottle-top & vacuum filtration units, in Filtration.

What is this article?
qpore® Bottle-Top-Filter, PVDF, 250 ml, 0,45 µm, Ø 50 mm 24 St./Pack is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Bottle-top & vacuum filtration units, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
A bottle-top filter or a vacuum filtration unit sits on a bottle and pulls a liquid through a membrane under vacuum. Pore size and membrane are the same choice as a syringe filter, at a larger area. A sterile unit is a stated claim. The bottle neck has to match.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
