Description

qpore® non-sterile syringe filters with a hydrophilic nylon membrane are intended for filtration of aqueous solutions and solvents in the laboratory. The 0,45 µm membrane on a 17 mm format combines fast flow with low non-specific binding and includes a glass-fibre prefilter for demanding clarification steps. They are well suited to non-sterile sample preparation ahead of HPLC or GC and similar clear-filtration tasks where sterility is not required. The polypropylene housing is pressure-resistant up to 6,0 bar, enabling rapid filtration with low dead volume. Chemical stability covers pH 3–12. Female Luer-Lock and male Luer cone connections provide secure syringe coupling, and printed membrane type and pore size on the housing help prevent mix-ups. Supplied non-sterile as 100 pieces in a bag from manufacturer neolab - Labor, these nylon units support routine solvent and aqueous sample cleanup in analytical and research workflows.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

What is this article?

qpore® Spritzenvorsatzfilter aus Nylon, unsteril, 0.45 µm, Ø 17 mm, 100 Stk/Pack is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
