Description

Raschig rings 3 x 3 mm in AR glass are cylindrical random packing elements intended for use as column packing in laboratory and technical separation set-ups. Their open ring geometry creates a large interfacial area that supports vapour–liquid contact in distillation, absorption and related mass-transfer operations while keeping pressure drop moderate. Fabricated from AR-Glas ®, the rings combine the chemical resistance and thermal behaviour expected of quality laboratory glass with a stable, inert contact surface. Each unit is supplied as a 1 kg pack (net weight 1,000 kg) and is classified as packing material (Füllkörper). The consistent 3 x 3 mm dimensions make these rings especially practical for smaller laboratory columns, pilot plants and glass apparatus where fine, free-flowing packing is required. Originating from Germany and offered by manufacturer Rettberg, the rings retain the classic Raschig profile that promotes even distribution of liquid and vapour phases and helps limit channelling. AR-Glas ® is a registered trademark identifying the glass grade used. Easy to charge, discharge and clean, these packing rings provide a straightforward, reusable solution for routine and developmental separation work that calls for glass packing of defined size.

What is this article?

Raschig rings, 3 x 3 mm, Soda-lime glass is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Rettberg for laboratory use. It sits in Other lab tools & accessories, inside Tools & accessories, in Labware.

This shelf is the bench tools that do not belong to a narrower rack: odd holders, small aids, pieces that complete a setup. The useful check is what the tool touches, and whether that contact adds a contaminant.

The small tools of the bench are what the hand actually holds: a spatula for a powder, forceps for an object that must stay clean, a brush for a narrow neck, a desiccator when a dried sample must not take up water again. None of these reads a measurement. They keep the measurement possible. The apparatus around them is listed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
