Description
RET control-visc S003 is a safety magnetic stirrer with heating and an integrated balance, supplied with a Swiss plug. A clear multilingual TFT display simplifies setting of all operating parameters. Integrated temperature control together with the included PT 100 sensor allows high-accuracy regulation directly in the medium. The stainless-steel composite hotplate reaches 340 °C for short heat-up times. RS 232 and USB interfaces enable instrument control and full documentation of experimental parameters. A switchable lock function prevents accidental changes to speed and temperature; the current plate temperature remains visible even when the unit is switched off and blanks automatically below 50 °C. Further capabilities include a BNC socket for a pH electrode, selectable fast or high-precision temperature modes, dual-sensor control of carrier and medium temperature, timer and countdown, viscosity-trend indication, stir-bar break detection, interval operation, adjustable safety circuit from 50 to 380 °C, and IP 42 closed construction. This unit from manufacturer IKA is suitable for unattended operation and includes a transparent protective cover.
This article is part of Magnetic stirrers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about RET control-visc S003, Magnetic stirrer with heating with Swiss plug
What is this article?
RET control-visc S003, Magnetic stirrer with heating with Swiss plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Magnetic stirrers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A magnetic stirrer is the motor and the plate under the flask. Many also heat. The stirring capacity is the litres of a water-like liquid it can turn, and a viscous liquid defeats a rating that was measured on water.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
