Description

Rotilabo® floating racks with 18 holes are compact laboratory floating stands designed to hold microcentrifuge and reaction tubes during water-bath work, ice incubation, or chilled sample handling. Each blue rack is moulded from HDPE and accepts common tube formats of 0,2 ml, 0,5 ml, 1,5 ml and 2,0 ml, so mixed tube sizes can be organised in a single floating array. The open-hole layout keeps tubes upright and visible while the buoyant body keeps samples at the working surface of a bath or ice pan, supporting consistent temperature exposure without manual holding. Supplied in a pack of five pieces from manufacturer Heathrow Scientific, the set is practical for parallel assays, PCR setup, enzyme reactions and routine sample storage workflows in molecular biology and clinical research laboratories. Individual rack weight is only 0,015 kg, making the units easy to move between benches, baths and cold blocks. As part of the Rotilabo® labware range for sample storage and floating stands, these racks offer a straightforward, reusable solution for organising small-volume tubes whenever flotation and clear tube access are required in everyday laboratory practice.

This article is part of Test tube racks, in Stands, clamps & racks.

What is this article?

Rotilabo®-floating racks, 18 holes, blue, for 0.2/0.5/1.5/2.0ml tubes, HDPE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Heathrow Scientific for laboratory use. It sits in Test tube racks, inside Stands, clamps & racks, in Labware.

A test-tube rack holds tubes upright in an order the operator can read back. The hole diameter and the number of places have to match the tubes. An autoclave-safe rack and a cardboard rack are not interchangeable once heat is involved.

A stand, a clamp and a rack hold something still so the hands can do the work. A bosshead locks a clamp to a rod. A test-tube rack keeps tubes upright and in an order the operator can read back. The failure is almost always mechanical: the clamp slips, or the rack does not match the tube diameter. The glass they support is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
