Description

DURAN® protect laboratory bottle, amber, plastic-coated, is a GL 45 safety-coated bottle with a nominal volume of 2 l, supplied without screw cap and pouring ring. It combines nearly inert USP/EP Type I borosilicate glass 3.3 on the inside with a protective polyurethane plastic coating on the outside to reduce the risk of glass breakage and liquid splash in the event of breakage. The amber exterior colouration shields light-sensitive materials from photodegradation and delivers UV protection up to approximately 500 nm according to international USP/EP standards, while leaving the inner DURAN® glass properties unchanged. A durable white enamel graduated scale and marking field, together with the permanent Retrace Code, support easy reading and full batch traceability. The plastic coating meets ASTM E1522 requirements and the bottle is fully autoclavable at 121 or 134 °C. Offered by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this ISO 4796-1 design is suited to preparation, storage, transport and shipping of light-sensitive materials, autoclaving of media and reagents, and use as a culture vessel. Net weight is 0,95 kg.
