Description
Spring balance SAUTER 283-902 is a precise mechanical force gauge built into a robust aluminium housing with Newton scale readout. Its aluminium scale tube is robust, long-lasting and convenient to handle. The Newton scale shows the measurement result in newtons and the dual scale enables either quick or precise acquisition of the value. Compressive force measurement can be performed using an optional pressure set. Handle and drag pointer are included as standard. The rotatable holding bracket keeps the scale optimally oriented toward the operator’s line of sight. Play-free spring bearing with integrated tare screw permits highly precise adjustment, while the fatigue-resistant stainless-steel spring ensures lasting performance. A clip eyelet provides free 360° rotation of the lower suspension. Abrasion-resistant, colour-anodised precision scaling with high resolution supports finest reading of the measurement result. Supplied by manufacturer Kern as a single unit with a net weight of 0,50 kg, the instrument is well suited to laboratory and workshop force-measurement applications that demand reliable mechanical indication.

Questions about SAUTER spring balance 283-902
What is this article?
SAUTER spring balance 283-902 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
Which category should I open next?
