Description
SenTix® 51 is an epoxy-body pH electrode with liquid electrolyte and an integrated temperature sensor for automatic temperature compensation. It is equipped with a waterproof DIN plug and a banana plug on a 1 m cable, ready for direct connection to compatible laboratory meters. The liquid electrolyte and robust epoxy shaft support stable readings in aqueous samples across routine laboratory and field applications. Supplied by manufacturer WTW – a Xylem brand, the electrode combines pH and temperature measurement in a single probe, reducing the need for a separate temperature sensor. The waterproof connector design protects the electrical interface during immersion and handling. With a net weight of 0,189 kg the sensor is easy to handle and mounts securely in standard electrode holders. Laboratories performing frequent pH checks, quality-control assays or process monitoring benefit from the integrated temperature element and the fixed 1 m cable length. The SenTix® 51 is intended for general-purpose pH work where a durable epoxy body and liquid reference system are preferred over glass-body or gel-filled alternatives.

Questions about SenTix® 51, Epoxy pH combination electrode with liquid electrolyte, waterproof D
What is this article?
SenTix® 51, Epoxy pH combination electrode with liquid electrolyte, waterproof D is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes WTW - a Xylem brand for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
