Description

SICCO Gas-Saving Valve is a polypropylene accessory designed for direct mounting on the cable feedthrough of SICCO glove boxes. Measuring 75 × 120 × 130 mm (width × height × depth), it provides a connection stub for a venting hose with an inner diameter of 45 mm. A ball closes the passage to the venting hose almost gas-tight and opens automatically only when overpressure or underpressure develops inside the glove box, allowing pressure equalisation while limiting inflow of ambient air through the vent line. This behaviour helps reduce gas consumption during purging and routine work under controlled atmosphere. Correct installation orientation is essential; the valve needs about 130 mm of additional clearance because of its protrusion. A hex key and four fastening screws are included for mounting. With a net weight of 0,155 kg and polypropylene construction, the unit is a compact accessory from manufacturer Bohlender for laboratories that want improved gas economy on SICCO glove-box systems. Supplied as one piece ready for installation on compatible feedthroughs.

Questions about SICCO Gas-saving valve, 75 x 120 x 130 mm made of PP, for direct assembly to SIC

What is this article?

SICCO Gas-saving valve, 75 x 120 x 130 mm made of PP, for direct assembly to SIC is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
