Description

Silanized glass vials are pretreated amber glass containers intended to save time and reduce waste during quantitative analyses or material storage. Each vial measures 15 × 45 mm, holds 4 mL, and is fitted with a closed-top screw cap of size 13-425. The closure uses a PTFE liner and PTFE closure material, supporting chemically resistant sealing for laboratory samples. The amber glass body helps protect light-sensitive contents while the silanized interior surface is prepared for analytical work. Units are supplied one hundred per carton from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics, with Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Certificate of Conformance (COC) documentation referenced for the product. These ready-to-use vials suit sample holding, quantitative workflows, and storage tasks where a pretreated glass surface and secure closed-top screw closure are preferred. The compact 4 mL format with standard 13-425 thread integrates readily into common laboratory vial handling and storage setups.

Questions about Silanized Glass Vials

What is this article?

Silanized Glass Vials is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
