Description

Silicone sealing ring, VMQ, with vulcanised PTFE cuff for GL 18 is a laboratory sealing element intended for screw connectors and tubing with an internal diameter of approximately 5,5–6,5 mm. The flexible silicone body delivers good sealing behaviour, while the vulcanised PTFE cuff on one side confers a useful level of chemical inertness. A central hole permits the insertion and secure retention of glass rods, olives, tubing and comparable laboratory fittings. Manufactured by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the ring is suited to routine sealing and tube-fixing applications. Specimens show an internal diameter of 6 mm and an external diameter of 16 mm, ensuring a precise fit in GL 18 connections. The combination of VMQ silicone and PTFE supports reliable contact and reduced interaction with many reagents. Supplied as 1 pc with a net weight of 0,001 kg, this sealing ring is a practical accessory for laboratory glassware and fluid-handling assemblies that require both a tight seal and chemical compatibility.

This article is part of Lids & seals, in Stoppers, caps & closures.

Questions about Silicone Sealing Ring, VMQ, with bonded PTFE face

What is this article?

Silicone Sealing Ring, VMQ, with bonded PTFE face is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Lids & seals, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

Lids and seals are the covers of dishes, jars and tanks: a snap lid, a sealing film, a gasket. The seal is doing the work. A lid that only rests on the rim does not contain a volatile liquid.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
