Description
ISE electrode for silver/sulphide, half-cell is a solid-state ion-selective half-cell electrode designed both as an indicator in silver nitrate titrations and for sulphide determination in water, soil and paper-industry samples. Constructed with an epoxy resin body, it measures Ag⁺ from 1 M to 1 × 10⁻⁶ M (107900 to 0,11 mg/L) and S²⁻ from 1 M to 1 × 10⁻⁷ M (32100 to 0,003 mg/L). Recommended pH windows are 2 to 8 for silver and 12 to 14 for sulphide; the operating temperature range extends from 0 to 80 °C, with approximate slopes of +56 mV (Ag⁺) and −28 mV (S²⁻) per decade. The probe measures Ø 12 mm × 120 mm immersion depth and is supplied with a 1 m coaxial cable ending in a BNC connector. Full cell operation requires reference electrode HI5315. Available as one unit from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, the electrode suits laboratory titration and ion analysis workflows that demand dependable silver or sulphide response.

Questions about Silver/Sulfide Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Solid State
What is this article?
Silver/Sulfide Half-Cell Ion Selective Electrode, Solid State is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Titrators & electrochemistry systems, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A titrator adds a reagent and watches an electrode until an endpoint, then calculates the amount. It is a burette, a stirrer and a meter in one. The electrode and the reagent concentration still decide the result. A manual titration is the same chemistry without the automation.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
