SONOMIC MC 1001 is a benchtop ultrasonic bath developed for simultaneous reprocessing of up to 12 rinseable MIC instruments, with a sonication tank volume of 42,5 l. Each instrument is cleaned and checked separately through its own adapter by repeated suction rinsing. When a suitable disinfectant preparation is added, chemical disinfection can be performed during cleaning. Twelve identical adapters connect rinseable MIC instruments with diameters from 3 to 10 mm without seal changes for size adjustment; the twist principle of the adapter seals ensures complete sealing on the outer shaft. Repeated suction rinsing with ultrasonic support at the distal end removes soil from the lumen against the direction of ingress while fresh cleaning or disinfection solution flows in, so debris cannot lodge at constrictions such as the handle area. Detached soil is retained in an easily accessible filter, and an integrated programme check verifies patency of every connected instrument; non-patent instruments are clearly identified. The unit (Bandelin) has a sloping tank floor and welded drain for rapid emptying, plus touchscreen control that shows process progress and final test results with step-by-step operator guidance. Peak ultrasonic power is 2400 W, heating power 400 W and nominal power 600 W. Internal dimensions are 650 × 400 × 160/170 mm. Rinseable parts of other instruments and loose medical tools such as scissors or forceps can also be cleaned in the basket.
