Description

SX610 Pocket pH Meter is a compact handheld instrument for straightforward pH determination in hydroponics, swimming pools, breweries and related applications. Its replaceable, especially slim pH electrode is well suited to measurements in narrow vessels such as test tubes. From manufacturer APERA Instruments, the meter offers single-button operation and automatic recognition of a stable reading. pH is measured from 0,0 to 14,0 at 0,1 resolution with ±0,1 accuracy, using automatic 1-point calibration. Automatic temperature compensation covers 0 to 50 °C; temperature itself is measured from 0 to 50 °C at 0,1 °C resolution with ±0,5 °C accuracy. Intelligent functions include automatic power-off and a low-battery indicator. Power is supplied by 2 × CR2032 batteries. The housing is rated IP57, with meter dimensions 148 × 29 × 14 mm and a weight of 49 g (case set 165 × 95 × 28 mm, 160 g). The complete set includes pH 7.00 calibration solution, 3M KCl storage solution, batteries and a practical case. Supplied as 1 pc, it carries a two-year manufacturer warranty (six months on the electrode).

Questions about SX610 pH Pen Tester

What is this article?

SX610 pH Pen Tester is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
