Description
SY BDV PT 100 bottom drain valve combines a reactor drain function with an integrated PT 100 temperature sensor for continuous process monitoring. The valve is compatible with the full EasySyn reactor vessel range (SY 100 D, SY 250 D, SY 500 D, SY 1000 D, SY 2000 D and SY 5000 D), allowing direct installation on jacketed laboratory reactors. Product-contacting surfaces are manufactured from PTFE, providing broad chemical resistance for typical synthesis media. An extension cable for connection to the thermostat is included, so temperature signals can be routed without additional adapters. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer IKA, the assembly has a net weight of 0,310 kg and is intended for professional EasySyn reactor setups. Integrating drain and sensing in one component reduces the number of vessel ports required and simplifies temperature control loops during heating, cooling or reaction monitoring. The PTFE wetted path supports clean emptying of the vessel while the PT 100 element delivers reliable temperature feedback to the connected thermostat. Suitable for synthesis, scale-up and process-development laboratories using the EasySyn platform.
This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about SY BDV PT 100, Bottom discharge valve with integrated temperature sensor
What is this article?
SY BDV PT 100, Bottom discharge valve with integrated temperature sensor is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.
A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
