Description

Thermometer with standard ground joint NS 14,5/23, similar to DIN, enclosed scale provides finer temperature resolution for glass apparatus work. It covers −10 °C to +150 °C with a 0,5 °C scale division and a red special filling in an uncoated prismatic capillary. Enclosed-scale construction keeps the graduation protected and readable during continuous use. The upper section measures 350 × 11 mm; installation length from the upper edge of the ground joint is 100 mm, and immersion depth from the lower edge of the joint is 77 mm. A Richter closure without knob completes the design. This calibratable joint thermometer from manufacturer Amarell is suited to reaction flasks, distillation setups and other NS 14,5/23 laboratory glassware where half-degree scale steps and a defined immersion geometry matter. Offered as a single piece in a DIN-similar format, it supports chemical and analytical workflows that need stable temperature indication directly at the apparatus joint.

This article is part of Laboratory glass thermometers, in Temperature measurement.

What is this article?

Thermometer with standard ground joint NS 14,5/23, similar DIN, enclosed scale, is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Amarell for laboratory use. It sits in Laboratory glass thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column, often with a stated immersion depth, total or partial. The range and the division decide the reading. A partial-immersion thermometer read at the wrong depth is wrong by design.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
