Description

ThinCert cell culture insert for 6-well plates is a tissue culture (TC) treated cell culture insert with a transparent PET membrane and a pore diameter of 3 µm. It is intended for 6-well multiwell plates, placing a porous PET membrane in each well so that cells can be cultured on the membrane surface. The insert is supplied sterile for laboratory cell culture. Transparency of the PET membrane supports optical viewing of the culture surface. Each carton contains 24 ThinCert inserts together with 4 multiwell plates. The inserts are from manufacturer Greiner Bio-One and form part of the laboratory materials range for cell culture. This variant is defined by the 3 µm pore diameter in a transparent PET membrane and by TC treatment of the insert. The 6-well plate format is the specified multiwell geometry for these inserts. Sterile PET-membrane inserts with 3 µm pores complete this 6-well ThinCert pack. The inserts originate from Switzerland and are supplied as laboratory cell culture materials.

This article is part of Cell strainers, inserts & scrapers, in Cell culture.

Questions about THINCERT CELL CULTURE INSERT FOR 6 WELL PLATES, TC

What is this article?

THINCERT CELL CULTURE INSERT FOR 6 WELL PLATES, TC is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Greiner Bio-One for laboratory use. It sits in Cell strainers, inserts & scrapers, inside Cell culture, in Microbiology lab supplies.

A cell strainer is a sterile mesh, often 40 µm or 70 µm, that gives a single-cell suspension. An insert is a membrane cup that hangs in a well so two compartments share a medium. A scraper lifts adherent cells mechanically. Mesh size, pore size and sterility are the specification.

Cell culture grows cells outside the body. The medium, often with serum, supplies what the flask does not. A flask or a dish is the vessel, treated so the cells attach or left untreated so they float. Contamination by microbes, or by another cell line, is the ordinary failure. Cold-chain articles in this work, including serum, are never part of free standard delivery. Lines are catalogued by ATCC. Papers are on PubMed. Practice is summarised by the WHO laboratory biosafety topic.
