Description

Three-necked round-bottom flask DURAN® is a large-capacity laboratory vessel intended for multi-port reaction, distillation and preparative work. With a nominal volume of 20000 ml it provides ample working space for pilot-scale and bulk laboratory procedures. The centre neck is finished as a 45/40 ground joint and the two side necks as 29/32 joints, allowing simultaneous attachment of condensers, dropping funnels, thermometers, gas inlets or mechanical stirrers. Fabricated from DURAN® borosilicate glass by manufacturer Lenz, the flask combines thermal shock resistance with broad chemical durability under typical laboratory heating and cooling regimes. The classic round-bottom geometry promotes uniform heat transfer when used with heating mantles or oil baths and supports efficient mixing. Supplied as a single piece with a weight of 5,140 kg, this three-neck flask integrates readily into standard ground-joint glassware assemblies and is suited to synthetic, process-development and large-batch applications that require robust multi-neck access and reliable joint compatibility.

What is this article?

Three-necked round-bottom flask, DURAN®, 20000ml, side necks 29/32 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lenz for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
