Description

Nalgene™ 180 clear metric PVC plastic tubing is transparent laboratory-grade tubing designed for leak-tight connections with metric fittings in fluid-handling work. It is produced from high-purity plastics and specialised plasticisers, giving a non-toxic, contamination-free hose that resists hardening, discolouration and a wide range of chemicals while remaining dimensionally stable. The material is food-contact suitable and complies with USP Class VI and USDA requirements. Metric dimensions are an inner diameter of 10 mm, an outer diameter of 14 mm and a wall thickness of 2 mm, supplied in an overall length of 25 m per roll. Maximum working pressure is 28 psig at 125 °F (52 °C) and 56 psig at 73 °F (23 °C). Tubing is marked at regular intervals with internal diameter and compliance information to simplify identification, measurement and cutting. Autoclavable clear PVC tubing from manufacturer Thermo Scientific supports numerous routine laboratory applications and is packed as one 25 m roll (carton).

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about To be discontinued when stocks depleted TUBING-180-MET 10.0X14.0X2.0 25M

What is this article?

To be discontinued when stocks depleted TUBING-180-MET 10.0X14.0X2.0 25M is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
