Description
Two-necked flask, DURAN®, 500 ml is a round laboratory flask with two ground-glass necks for multi-port reaction and distillation assemblies. The centre joint is NS 24/29 and the angled side neck is NS 14/23, enabling simultaneous connection of a condenser, dropping funnel, thermometer adapter or inert-gas line within a compact footprint. Made from DURAN® glassware by manufacturer Lenz, this single-piece vessel weighs 0,185 kg and is intended for medium-scale preparative work. The angled side neck improves spatial clearance around the main port and simplifies apparatus layout in the fume hood. Compatible ground joints allow reliable, greaseable seals with standard European stoppers and adapters. Applications include organic synthesis, reflux procedures, solvent recovery and teaching laboratories where controlled addition and vapour management are needed at the same time. The 500 ml working volume provides ample capacity for routine reactions while remaining practical to handle, heat and clamp. This two-neck design reduces reliance on extra multi-neck adapters when building closed systems.

Questions about Two-necked flask, DURAN®, 500 ml, angled side neck 14/23, centre 24/29
What is this article?
Two-necked flask, DURAN®, 500 ml, angled side neck 14/23, centre 24/29 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lenz for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
