Description

201-C Combined pH Electrode with BNC connector is a combination pH sensor designed for routine measurements in ordinary aqueous solutions across scientific research, environmental monitoring and quality-control laboratories. The high-quality glass sensing membrane and single ceramic junction operate with a gel KCl electrolyte that requires no refilling, while the polycarbonate shaft provides mechanical robustness. Measuring range covers 0 to 14 pH; electrode dimensions are ø12 × 160 mm and the cable is Ø3 mm × 1 m terminated with a standard BNC plug. A removable storage cap helps maintain membrane hydration between uses. The electrode contains no integrated temperature sensor, so automatic temperature compensation requires a separate probe or manual temperature entry. Recommended operating temperature is 0 to 80 °C; it is not intended for low-ionic-strength media such as deionised water, strongly alkaline solutions above pH 12, highly corrosive liquids or prolonged exposure above 60 °C. Compatible with any pH meter offering a BNC input, this sensor from manufacturer APERA Instruments is supplied as a single unit with a six-month manufacturer warranty.

Questions about 201-C Combination pH Electrode, BNC Connector, Polycarbonate/Glass

What is this article?

201-C Combination pH Electrode, BNC Connector, Polycarbonate/Glass is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
