Description

Angle valve stopcock PRODURAN® with a passage of 0–10 mm provides precise control for laboratory gas and liquid handling. The spindle is height-adjustable via a fine thread, enabling the finest regulation of the valve opening. Combined with thick-walled connections, this PRODURAN® valve stopcock from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences is suitable for high-vacuum use. Flowing media contact only DURAN® glass and PTFE, supporting grease-free working thanks to the polished stopcock surface. The compact valve construction is easy to handle, loosen and dismantle. An anti-unscrew safeguard prevents complete removal of the valve pin, while the adjustable pin increases the service life of the stopcock. Ideal for dosing and regulating gases and liquids, the component is intended for further processing into glass apparatus. It is particularly suited to vacuum applications such as the construction of Schlenk lines, vacuum-inert gas lines and nitrogen distribution manifolds. The valve is manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about 90° Valve, PRODURAN®

What is this article?

90° Valve, PRODURAN® is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
